Human rights expert / Senior Consultant

Romba Salifou is a human rights expert with a Master's degree in human rights from the National School of Administration and Magistracy in Ouagadougou, a Master's degree in sociology from the Joseph Ki-Zerbo University in Burkina Faso, and specialized certificates from the African Center of Expertise in Management, Economics, and Innovation, the International Institute for Human Rights - René Cassin Foundation (IIHR), the Koffi Annan International Peacekeeping Centre in Accra (KAIPTC), the Alioune Blondin Beye Peacekeeping School in Bamako (EMP), and the Danish Institute for Human Rights (IIHR).


With 15 years of professional experience in the promotion and protection of human rights, he held senior positions within the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights in Burkina Faso before serving as an international expert at the United Nations Joint Human Rights Office of the Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO).


Specializing in technical cooperation and the management and implementation of human rights projects, Mr. Romba has a thorough understanding of African instruments and mechanisms, as well as the UN system for the promotion and protection of human rights. He also possesses extensive expertise in supporting businesses in reducing their environmental impact (health, water, soil), and supporting public and private institutions in taking human rights into account in the exploitation of natural resources; and in implementing the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, as well as the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights. In particular, he supported the company Tenke Fungurume in the DRC.
